The short version

We collect what we need to take your order, ship it, and stay in touch if you ask us to. We don't sell your personal information. That's the whole philosophy!

This policy covers shop.mossandfog.com, the Moss and Fog Shop.

What we collect

  • Order details. Your name, email, shipping and billing address, phone number if you give one, and what you bought.
  • Payment details. Payments are processed by Shopify and its payment partners. We never see or store your full card number.
  • Account details. If you create an account, we keep your login email and order history.
  • Messages. Anything you send us by email or through the shop's chat.
  • Browsing data. Like most shops, we use cookies and similar tools to keep your cart working, remember your preferences, and understand which pages and products people visit. This includes your device type, browser, IP address and approximate location.

How we use it

  • To process, pack and ship your order, and to send order and tracking emails
  • To deliver digital downloads
  • To answer questions and sort out problems
  • To send newsletters and offers, only if you signed up
  • To prevent fraud and keep the shop secure
  • To understand what is working in the shop so we can make it better

Who we share it with

We share information only with the services that help us run the shop, and only what each one needs:

  • Shopify, which hosts the shop and processes checkout and payments
  • USPS and DHL, which deliver your order
  • Printful, which prints and ships made-to-order items
  • Pendora, which delivers digital download files
  • Privy and Kit, which send our emails and, if you opt in, text messages
  • Advertising and analytics partners such as Google, Meta and Pinterest, which help us measure visits and show our products to people who may like them

We may also share information when the law requires it, or to protect our rights and our customers. We do not sell your personal information.

Email and text messages

You only get marketing email or texts from us if you sign up. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and you can reply STOP to any text. Order and shipping messages are separate, since you need those to get your order.

Cookies

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The shop will still work for browsing, though the cart and checkout may not behave properly without them. Where the law requires it, we ask for your consent before using non-essential cookies.

How long we keep it

We keep order records for as long as we need them for accounting, tax and customer service. If you ask us to delete your information, we will, except for what we are legally required to keep.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to see the personal information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, receive a copy, or object to certain uses, including targeted advertising. Residents of the EU, UK, California and several other US states have specific rights under their local laws. To use any of these, email us and we will respond within 30 days. We will never treat you differently for asking.

If you are in the EU or UK, we process your information to fulfill your order, with your consent (for marketing), and for our legitimate interest in running and improving the shop. Your information is processed in the United States.

Children

The shop is not intended for children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their information.

Changes

If we update this policy, we will post the new version here with a new date.
