The Dinner Party: A Printable Hosting Kit
The Dinner Party: A Printable Hosting Kit
Having people over goes best when the host is in the room when they arrive. This kit gets you to seven o'clock calm.
Redrawn in our Journal style, with a long table seen from above, three candles and a clock that counts you down to the door.
- The Day Of: a timeline from 3:00 to 7:00, with a box for every step, from flowers and a final tidy to candles lit at 6:40. Invited for six? Slide everything an hour earlier.
- The Week Before and The Day Before: the shopping, the make-ahead dessert, the playlist
- Guest Math: wine, ice, apps and coffee, worked out per person
- The Room: light and sound (overheads off, everywhere), the small kindnesses, The Host's Five and our twenty minute rule
- The Menu card: a framed page to fill in and leave on the table
- Place cards: fold-over cards, six to a page, with the name readable from both sides
Five pages with 33 tappable checkboxes, and it prints cleanly on US Letter at home.
