Tarot Candle, Death
Tobacco flower, orange peel and leather, named for the card that almost never means what people think it means. Death in a tarot deck is change rather than an ending, and the scent leans that way: honeyed at the open, bright in the middle, warm and worn in at the close.
The label is a linocut by Sophy Hollington, a British artist whose symbolic prints turn up everywhere from record sleeves to newspaper pages. It is the reason this reads as an artifact rather than a novelty.
6 inches tall, 12 oz, about sixty hours of burn, soy wax with a cotton wick, hand poured in the United States. Gift box included.
Questions
Everything here is something we would put in a Moss & Fog article: made by a small studio or an independent maker, bought and stocked by us, and packed by hand. If you want to know how a piece is made, how big it really is, or whether it will suit a particular person, email admin@mossandfog.com and we will answer from the studio.
