Draplin Design Co.

Embroidered patches, enamel pins, vinyl decals and one very green action cap. Thick lines, flat color, nothing wasted.

Aaron Draplin has been making things in Portland for about thirty years. Logos for Field Notes and Esquire and Cobra Dogs, a shelf of posters, and running alongside all of it, a steady output of patches, pins and decals built the same way he builds everything: heavy strokes, flat color, legible from across the room.

We ordered a box of it through his wholesale catalog. Then we remembered his studio is about fifteen minutes from ours, so we drove over and picked it up by hand instead.

All of it is here, counted and ready to ship. These are small runs. When a design is gone, it's gone.

Thirty years of thick lines

Draplin's studio has quietly shaped a lot of what American graphic design looks like right now. The patches are the most affordable way to own a piece of it, and the most fun to put on a jacket.
